BELLS SCTP Networking Nite: Empowering Learners to Connect and Excel

On 12 December 2024 , BELLS New Media Lab @ Kallang Wave Mall came alive with excitement and opportunity as we hosted our SCTP Networking Nite , an exclusive in-house event specially curated for learners of our SCTP (SkillsFuture Career Transition Programme).

A Night of Connections and Insights

The event was designed to empower learners with essential skills for career progression or transition while providing a platform to engage with employers from diverse industries. A total of 65 learners from SCTP Programmes such as Cybersecurity, Digital Marketing, Business Digitalization, and Full Stack Development participated, eager to showcase their skills and gain insights into the job market.

An Engaging Start

The evening began with a brief introduction before transitioning into an interactive forum led by industry stalwarts:

• Ms. Cheow Ai Ling, Managing Director, Marsh Singapore- PEMA Asia Leader , and a networking veteran in her industry, shared her experience and tips on mastering the art of networking.

• Mr. Shane Chiang, CEO of Momentum Z , a leading cybersecurity firm , provided insights into the cybersecurity landscape and job market trends.

• Mr. Kevin Woon, Founder of Philore Group, a recruitment firm , offered practical advice on navigating the employability landscape and making a lasting impression during job applications.

The event saw participation from 10 employers representing various industries. Each shared unique perspectives and opportunities, creating a dynamic platform for interaction. The learners were encouraged to ask questions, build meaningful connections, and demonstrate their readiness for the workforce.
