  • A minimum of five years of cumulative, full-time experience across two or more CISSP Exam Outline domains.
  • A post-secondary degree in computer science, IT, or related fields can reduce the experience requirement by one year.
  • Holding an additional credential from the ISC2-approved list can also substitute for up to one year of experience.
  • Part-time work and internships are considered towards fulfilling the experience requirement.
  • Alternatively, candidates without the required experience can become an Associate of ISC2 by passing the CISSP exam. Associates have six years to accumulate the five years of required experience.
