To earn the CSM certification, candidates must attend training with a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST), then complete and pass the online certification exam.

How many attempts do I have to pass the CSM certification exam?

You have two attempts to pass the CSM certification exam to become a certified ScrumMaster with Scrum Alliance.

What is the validity of the CSM certification?

The CSM certification is valid for two years. After two years, certification holders must renew by paying a renewal fee and earning Scrum Education Units (SEUs) through continued learning.

If I fail the CSM Certification exam, how soon can I retake it?

If you fail the exam on your first attempt, you can retake it immediately at no cost within 90 days from the date you received your welcome email. After two attempts or 90 days, you will need to pay a fee for additional retakes.
